Lessard Builders History

Our beginnings in construction stretch back to the 1940’s when our great grandfather Dan Lessard started a construction business building homes, pole barns, and buildings in Long Island, New York. The second generation of Lessard’s quickly followed Dan, and in the 1950’s his son, Addie Lessard, began to take a prominent role working on construction sites with his father. Addie learned his father’s secrets and pushed forward to continue turning people’s dreams into reality and growing Lessard Builders.

With that came the most natural decision for Addie, to involve and pass along the family knowledge and trade secrets onto his seven children. When Addie’s children were young he relocated his family to Delaware at a time when Delaware’s economic outlook was developing and the need for home construction was flourishing. In the 1970’s Addie passed two things to his family: his passion for quality craftsmanship, and the helm of his family business to his young son, Brian.

Today, those of us at Lessard Builders still pride ourselves on the same principles which Dan has in his heart over 70 years ago: family, community, and working with people to turn their dreams into reality.
